One man has died and several others haven been injured in an overnight crash in Donegal.
The two-vehicle collision occurred on the main Donegal-Sligo road at around 10pm last night.
A 70 year male was fatally injured when the SUV he was driving was involved in a collision with a jeep.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Sligo General Hospital.
The three other passengers in the SUV, one male and two female, were taken to Sligo General Hospital with injuries described as serious but not life threatening.
The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, a jeep, were also taken to Sligo General Hospital with injuries described as minor.
The road is closed between the Laghy junction and Ballintra junction as a technical examination is being carried out by Gardai.
Motorists will divert at Ballintra.
The road is expected to remain closed for some time today.
