A storage and office development has been approved by Donegal County Council in Killybegs for a site between St Catherine’s Well and the new pier despite hundreds of signatures raised in the community objecting to the development.
The local History & Heritage Committee has had an on-going campaign to prevent any further development in the area which contains the holy well, the ruin of “Cat’s Castle”, and the 14th century St Catherine’s Church and graveyard.
Chairman Killybegs History and Heritage Committee Derek Vial says they are now considering lodging an appeal with An Bord Pleanala….
