Dungloe Community Hospital reopening to new admissions

Dungloe Hospital

It follows the detection of the Carbapenem-Resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) superbug at the unit in April.
Welcoming the announcment made by the HSE Deputy Pearse Doherty said the situation could have been worse, but the infection control protocols introduced at the hospital were effective, and received the cooperation of staff, patients and visitors.
He says a prolonged closure could have had a knock on effect on other areas of the health service in Donegal………….
