A major search operation for a microlight aircraft that went missing after leaving the City of Derry Airport has now resumed.
It’s understood two microlights left Derry airport at approximately 11am yesterday morning heading for Scotland.
One is now missing with two people on board.
The alarm was raised at around 8: 30 last night and a major air and sea search was launched.
Speaking from the search earlier, Team Leader with the North West Mountain rescue team Joe Downdall said today’s weather conditions are hampering efforts to find the aircraft.
