23 arrests made in Letterkenny on first night of rally weekend

Gardai in Letterkenny have confirmed that a total of 23 people were arrested last night and this morning in the town and surrounding area.

Gardai say this is approximately the same number as the total arrests made for the entire weekend last year.
The arrests relate to a variety of offences including road traffic and public order.
One driver was clocked doing 173kph while other at 194kph and it’s understood both cars were seized.
All 23 people have been charged and are to appear at Letterkenny Circuit Court in the coming days.
Gardai say the first arrest was made at 9pm last night and continued right through till this morning.
