Mother and baby Homes Commission to be picketted

mother and babyPeople who were the victims of illegal adoptions in Ireland are to picket the inquiry into mother and baby homes taking place in Dublin later today, calling for the scope of the probe to be widened.
Only 14 institutions and four county homes across the country fall within the commission’s terms of reference.
In Donegal, The Castle in Newtowncunningham and St Joseph’s in Stranorlar are the only institutions included.
The Coalition of mother and baby home survivors says this means an estimated two-thirds of victims across the country – who were in other homes – will be potentially excluded from the scope of the current inquiry.
Theresa Tinggal runs the group – “adopted illegally in Ireland”.
She is one of those whose case will not be covered……….
