Police in Derry say they are still trying to establish a motive for a paramilitary-style attack in the city earlier this week.
The shooting happened in the Culdaff Gardens area of Creggan, a small cul-de-sac situated close to Rinmore Drive at around 10.35pm on Monday night.
Eyewitnesses said the victim, a 40 year old delivery driver, was set upon by four masked men.
The man was then shot in both ankles and was taken by ambulance to Altnagelvin Hospital.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said that its investigations were at an early stage and detectives were investigating a motive for the shooting.
Anyone with any information about this shooting to contact detectives at Strand Road Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
