Bonagee United’s Italian midfielder Francesco Crisci has said arrivederci to the Ulster Senior League in style.
Crisci has been based in Letterkenny since May past, working with the Donegal Youth Service, but he will now return to Italy.
He has been playing with Bonagee United in the Ulster Senior League and scored a cracking second goal in a 3-0 win over Swilly Rovers at Dry Arch Park on Friday.
He also netted a goal in the 2-1 win over Fanad United in the FAI Intermediate Cup.
Crisci said: “I enjoyed my time in Bonagee and the USL League.
“I tried a different type of football than the Italian football.
“There is more running and it is more physical. I had fun playing in this League.”
The 23-year-old midfielder comes from Battipaglia, not far from Sorento in southern Italy, and had played for Polisportiva Santa Maria before moving to Ireland.
His work colleague Carolyn Maguire, who sits on the Bonagee United committee, persuaded Crisci to join Bonagee.
