Number of people on live register in Donegal down 14% in last year

 

The number of people signing on the Live Register in Donegal has dropped by 14% in the last year.
Nationally, the Live Register has fallen below 250,000 for the first time in 9 years.
In Donegal the number of people signing on the Live Register is 2,082, down 14% compared to the same period last year.
Dungloe has experienced the largest decline with 1,231 people signing on, down 21%.
There were 3,779 people on the live register in Letterkenny and 654 in Killybegs, both recording a decline of 16%.
Buncrana saw a drop of of 14.6% with 2,277 currently on the Live Register, compared to 2,668 during the same period last year.
While, Dunfanaghy and Ballybofey experienced a drop of 12.4% and 9.6% respectively.
The smallest decrease was in Dongal Town with 751 people on the Live Register, down 7%.
