The Council is being urged to get behind and recognise the tourism potential of the ‘Gathering at Scalp’ project.
The project would see 31 giant metal sculptures depicting Gaelic figures erected on the top of Scalp Mountain in Burnfoot and is set to cost €4.5 million.
It’s set to be the largest public art piece in Ireland with Derry City and Strabane District Council already committed to supporting the initiative.
