Letterkenny University Hospital has moved to clarify that while the vacant Short Stay Ward is currently being used to house required services, it’s on a temporary basis.
The Radiology Rebuild Project began in October 2017 and in order to facilitate the project some staff and other accommodation had to be relocated.
Hospital Management have stated that should additional funding become available to open additional in-patient beds, they will immediately relocate from the Short Stay Ward.
Donegal Senator Padraig Mac Lochlainn is satisfied with the response but stressed there is no excuse for the Government not to grant the funding:
