A Hiqa inspection of the Moville Residential Group Home for people with disabilities has found most issues identified in an earlier inspection have been addressed.
The report concludes that residents are happy with their care, and there is a high standard of safety, care and support being provided to residents living in the centre.
However, one non-compliance is noted in the area of patients’ rights.
The report says the inspector spoke to all four residents at the Moville Residential Group Home, and all indicated that they were very happy with the care and support that they received from staff.
The Moville facility was compliant in most areas, with a number of areas identified where improvement was needed.
In the areas of statement of purpose, complaints procedures, and staffing, the centre was found to be substantially compliant.
In one area, that of residents’ rights, the facility was found to be non-compliant.
The reports says that overall, the rights of residents were protected and promoted, and residents were treated in a manner that maximised their privacy and dignity.
However, it concludes, at the time of inspection, there was an organisational practice in place that impacted on residents’ rights to exercise choice and control in an aspect of their lives.
