Increase to minimum wage has reduced inequality, report finds

 

The increase in the rate of the Irish minimum wage in 2016 reduced the inequality between high and low earners.
A new study by the Economic and Social Research Institute shows the increase in the minimum wage also led to increases for those earning up to 11 euro 50 per hour.
Researcher with the ESRI, Dr.Paul Redmond, says narrowing the pay gap between people also creates a better society
