Woman due in court over aggravated burglary in Letterkenny

 

A woman has been charged following an aggravated burglary, in which an elderly couple were attacked in Kilmacrennan on Sunday morning.
The man and woman, both in their 70s, were assaulted in their home after entry was gained through the top window of the property.
Both required treatment at Letterkenny University Hospital after a number of household items were thrown at them.
They have since been discharged.
Two mobile phones, a wallet containing a quantity of cash, and a number of other items were stolen from the house.
The woman who is in her 30s was arrested on Monday afternoon and is due to appear before Letterkenny District Court this morning.
