The contract for the delivery of a €10.5 million quay development at Killybegs Fishery Harbour Centre has been awarded.
Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Charlie McConalogue has announced the award of the contract for Smooth Point Extension Completion Works at the harbour centre.
He says it will help alleviate congestion at this major port.
The works will see a 120 metre long quay development completed and associated works at Smooth Point.
The Minister says Killybegs Harbour is Ireland’s premier fishing port and as such can be exceptionally busy.
He says this project will see the long-waited completion of additional quay space in the harbour and will alleviate congestion during the peak fishing season at this major port.
It’s expected works will start in a matter of weeks and the project will be substantially completed within 7 months.
