A Letterkenny councillor says if the corn and flax mill at Newmills is to reach its potential, the first thing that must be done is to reopen it.
Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh moved a motion at Letterkenny Milford Municipal District this week, calling on the council to liaise with the OPW to ensure that the facility is fully functional and properly staffed for the 2023 tourist season.
Cllr Kavanagh told the meeting the Minister visited the mill a year ago, and made it clear that further government funding will only be forthcoming when visitor numbers increase:
