SF leaders told Blair a bad deal would have serious consequences for them

Republican leaders told the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair of the risks to their lives , if they agreed to a bad deal to end the conflict in the North.

The 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement is being marked, with all sides reflecting on the events leading up to the accord.

With just days to go before a deadline to reach a deal, both the British Prime Minister and the Taoiseach flew to Belfast in April 1998, to get an agreement over the line.
