Council offices in Derry and Strabane to turn blue for Motor Neurone Awareness Day

Council offices in Derry and Strabane are to join buildings across the world in turning blue for Motor Neurone Awareness Day

MND Awareness Day is marked across the world on June 22nd and aims to highlight the condition that claims the lives of six people in the UK every day.

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Patricia Logue says; Motor Neurone Disease is still considered a rare illness and with no cure, awareness is vital to ensure those living with a diagnosis get the support they need.

Council buildings will be lit blue on Thursday and earlier that day the Motor Neurone Disease Association will host an awareness event in the Millennium Forum.
