A dedicated National Youth Mental Health office has been established within the HSE.
The government says it will improve leadership, oversight and management of services.
It comes soon after a report found there are “ongoing and serious deficits” in child mental health services.
Mental Health Minister Mary Butler says the new National Office is essential in tackling “evolving challenges” facing youth mental health.
