There are calls for the EU to crackdown on deepfakes.
They’re images, videos, or audio edited using AI, sometimes depicting fake scenes involving real people.
The European Parliament’s Gender Equality Committee has passed an amendment from Midlands North West MEP Maria Walsh, calling on the EU to speed up detection and prevention of deepfakes.
