Delay in roll out of free HRT ‘not surprising’ – Donegal pharmacist

A Donegal pharmacist says it’s not surprising that the roll out of free hormone replacement therapy for thousands of women has been delayed.

It was announced last year that HRT would be free from January. However, the Department of Health’s stance now is that it will be made available without charge as soon as possible.

Margaret O’Doherty says she had indications that it would not be available this month due to a lack of official communication from the HSE or Department of Health.

She told today’s Nine til Noon Show that supply issues need to be addressed also:
