Canavan urges people to avail of the flu vaccine

The HSE says there’s been a disappointing uptake in the flu vaccine this year.

678 people are currently in hospital with the virus, with fears that number could rise following the re-opening of schools.

It’s prompted calls from the INMO for a national emergency plan to address hospital overcrowding.
