A bank holiday road safety campaign is underway.
33 people have been killed in crashes on the roads since the start of the year.
Gardaí and the Road Safety Authority are warning drivers NOT to get behind the wheel after taking drink or drugs.
Chief Superintendent Jane Humphries says there’s more risk with higher traffic on the roads this weekend.
