80 police officers arrive from Scotland to assist with violence in Northern Ireland

The PSNI is repeating calls for calm after almost a week of violence in Northern Ireland.

It follows new attacks overnight in Portadown when Police were targeted with petrol bombs, fireworks, masonry, and bottles.

On Thursday reinforcements were brought in to help the force – with 80 officers arriving from Scotland.

PSNI Assistant Chief Constable Ryan Henderson says normality needs to be restored.
