Rory McIlroy says it’s special to win the Irish Open again.
He sealed a first title since his Masters triumph at Augusta in April by beating Sweden’s Joakim Lagegren on a third play-off hole at the K Club on Sunday.
Both players ended the week on 17-under-par at the Kildare venue after the Ulster man took an eagle at the last.
It was McIlroy’s 20th victory on the DP World Tour and his first win at the Irish Open since 2016.
