Taoiseach says Harris can handle dual role

The Taoiseach says he has no concerns about the workload the new Finance Minister will face, and he says it will not prohibit him from doing a good job.

Simon Harris, who is also the Tánaiste, was announced as Paschal Donohoe’s replacement last week.

He will be the first Minister in modern history to hold both roles, and he will also have to balance both with being the leader of Fine Gael.

Speaking in Johannesburg this afternoon, Micheal Martin said his Cabinet colleague is vastly experienced:
