Government breaking the law on AON failures – MacLochlainn

A Donegal TD says figures received through a Dail question show that government continues to break the law when it comes to children with disabilities in Donegal.

Deputy Pádraig Mac Lochlainn says there is a “shameful failure” on the government’s part to address the deepening crisis in Assessments of Need for children.

Once they are referred, children should receive their assessments within six month, but figures show that 346 children in Donegal are overdue an Assessment of Need, and of the 55 who have received it, only one was within the legal six month timeframe.

Deputy MacLochlainn says that points to a deep failure…………
