Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy says he believes a pact with left wing candidates could offer Ireland a real political alternative.
Yesterday, Sinn Fein confirmed it would sign a document prepared by the campaign group Right2Change, which is urging what it terms left wing candidates committed to a progressive government to enter into a voting pact.
Right2Change say Friday is the closing date for signing the document. A number of sitting TDs and candidates, including Donegal Independent Deputy Thomas Pringle, are currently considering their response.
Matt Carthy is urging them to do so – He says it’s the best chance of a new direction in government……..
