Two deaths in the workplace recorded in Donegal last year

55 people died at the workplace last year – an increase of 15 percent on 2010’s figures.
During 2011 – 22 people working in Agriculture were killed – down from 25 the previous year.
There were two recorded work place deaths in Donegal in 2011 – a 37 year-old fisherman died after falling over board at sea while a 37 year-old technician was killed when his van was in collision with another vehicle.
The Health and Safety Authority’s launched an awareness campaign – aimed at encouraging farmers to stop taking risks.
