2,240 new Covid 19 cases have been reported today.
1,058 of them were confirmed by PCR tests, while1,188 people registered positive antigen tests through the HSE portal.
As of 8am today, 535 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of whom 43 are in ICU.
Latest figures for Letterkenny University Hospital show 22 infected patients, three of them in Intensive Care.
Over the past three days, 6,841 new cases of the virus have been reported.
4,368 new cases were confirmed through a PCR test.
3,531 people have registered a positive antigen test result on the HSE’s online portal since Friday.
- On Saturday 23 April, the HPSC was notified of 1,547 PCR-confirmed cases of COVID-19. 1,327* people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal the previous day
- On Sunday 24 April, the HPSC was notified of 705 PCR-confirmed cases of COVID-19. 1,016* people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal the previous day.
Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 deaths has officially passed 7-thousand.
The HSE says the 7,016 people have died from the virus since the pandemic began in March 2020.
