Gardai in Donegal are warning drivers not to take to the roads unless documentation is in order and up to date.
It comes as one motorist detected in Mountcharles on Saturday had let their tax expire by 1,483 days.
It subsequently emerged that they had no insurance or NCT also and as a result the car was seized.
Gardai say fixed charge penalty notices and a summons will now be issued.
