Glenmaquin National School is to open the doors to its new extension tomorrow.
The addition has been described as a testament to the strength of the small community.
Following extensive lobbying by staff, board of management, parents and the wider community, a new state of the art classroom has been completed and will be opened tomorrow.
The nearly 160-year-old building has now doubled its floor space.
27 students, 8 of whom are Ukrainian refugees, attend the rural school, which only has two teachers and is around five miles outside of Letterkenny.
Glenmaquin National School say the new classroom is a testament to the resilience of the small community in making a significant achievement.
The opening will a celebration of the work that has been done to continue to provide education to the children of Glenmaquin in the heart of their own community.
