The sod has been turned on Lifford Common Park.
It marks the beginning of the construction of enabling infrastructure that will allow for the future development of the site.
The works will make way for a new 60 unit Social Housing scheme with 60 units, new playing fields , sites for economic development and new Community Health facilities.
Chair of Lifford Community Hospital Action Group, John Quinn says while there is a long way to go before a new Community Hospital for Lifford is delivered, it is a major step in the right direction:
