Racist graffiti appears overnight in Strabane

There’s widespread condemnation after racist graffiti appeared overnight in Strabane.

‘Immigrants out’ was painted in red on the gable wall of a house in the Ballycolman area where a mother and her two children live.

The Strabane Ethnic Community Association says such actions are not only despicable but also inhumane.

The group’s Project Manager, Kamini Rao says the family are in a state of shock:

Local Councillor Paul Boggs says the actions of those responsible does not reflect the views of the people of Strabane:

Police have confirmed that they are treating the incident as a racially motivated hate crime.

They say enquiries are ongoing and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
