
Sinn Féin Deputy Matt Carthy says victims of sexual violence are constantly living in fear of their abusers.
He will introduce the Victims of Sexual Violence Civil Protection Order Bill in the Dáil.
The legislation would allow the judge to impose a protection order during conviction, thus preventing the perpetrator from being in the vicinity of their victim once released from prison.
