Government wins confidence motion by 92 votes to 78

The Government has won a motion of confidence in the Dáil by 92 votes to 78.

But it lost two members of the coalition in the process.

Michael Healy Rae resigned his position as Junior Minister for Forestry while his brother Danny has also pulled support.

Donegal’s TDs voted as expected. Fianna Fail’s Pat the Cope Gallagher and Charlie McConalogue voted with the government ; Sinn Fein’s Pearse Doherty and Padraig MacLochlainn voted against, as did 100% Redress TD Charles Ward.
