More than 46,000 applications have been approved by the Help-to-Buy scheme since 2020.
It assists first-time purchasers in buying or building a new property, or one which has been recently converted into a dwelling and not previously lived in.
Figures released by the Tanaiste show that in Donegal, there were 1,642 applications, of which 909 were approved.
Of those, 535 were for self build homes, and 374 were for purchased homes.
