A 47-year-old man is due in court after the discovery of a gun in the Currynierin area in March.
Detectives from the PSNI’s Terrorism Investigation Unit have charged the man with possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances.
He is due to appear before Derry Magistrates’ Court today.
As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
