€200,000 will be spent this year to progress the Aghilly Road project in Buncrana under the Housing Investment Infrastructure Fund .
The road is the main walkway for residents of certain areas of the town to get to the town centre, and works planned for it aim to improve safety.
The total cost of the project is estimated to be €10m.
Cllr Fionán Bradley says work is expected to begin in 2027:
