Soccer – First Away Win For Harps In Waterford

Finn Harps goalkeeper Ciaran Gallagher is expected to be back in first team action within the next ten days. Gallagher landed heavily on the pitch during Harps 2-0 win over Waterford United on Saturday afternoon. A goal from Simon Treacy and an own-goal from Seamus Long saw Harps run out winners but much of the game took place under the cloud of the serious injury to the Harps keeper. The game was stopped for over 20 minutes as medical staff attended to Gallagher. Following a scan at the hospital Ciaran was given clearance to travel back to Ballybofey on the team bus.  16-year-old Shaun Patton came on to replace their injured Gallagher and the youngster saved a Waterford penalty in the second half.  The victory was Harps second of the season and the first away from home.
Director of Football Felix Healy spoke with Diarmaid Doherty on Saturday Sport.
