Tyrone beat Cavan to reach All Ireland Masters Final

Tyrone qualified for the All-Ireland Masters final with an eight points win over Cavan at Truagh, and will take on defending champions Galway in the decider on Saturday week.
The game was finely balanced until the latter stages of the first half, when the Red Hands hit 1-4 in a strong spell, with Mark Donnelly palming home a goal from Stephen Dooher’s delivery.
They led by 1-7 to 0-6 at the interval, and strengthened their position with a Richard O’Neill goal midway through the second half.
Cavan trailed by seven points but reduced the arrears to three with a Noel McPhillips goal.
However, Tyrone responded with scores from Stephen Lawn, Donnelly and Conor Daly to secure their place in the final.
Tyrone scorers: M Donnelly 1-6 (0-4f), R O’Neill 1-1, S Lawn, D Gormley, C Daly, S Dooher, S Barkley 0-1 each.
Cavan scorers: N McPhillips 1-1, A McSeain 0-7 (5f), A Reilly, C Shields 0-1 each.
