Woman threatened with a knife in Derry

Campaigners Call For Tougher Knife Laws
 
Police at Strand Road are appealing for information after a woman was threatened with a knife.
While the incident occured in Derry last Monday, details and the appeal are only emerging now.
At around 8.30pm on Monday, 26th, the woman was walking at Stephen’s Court in the Ballymagroarty area when a man approached her.
The man held a knife towards the woman’s throat and made threats to her. He was accompanied by another male, who was not involved in the incident but was present at the time
The assault occurred in the vicinity of a mobile shop in a residential area, police say there is a possibility that there were other people in the area at the time or immediately before or after.
Anyone who saw the incident, or has any information about it, is asked to contact police on 101 from Northern Ireland or by calling Crimestoppers.
