Irish Water to start second phase of work in Letterkenny

Irish Water is set to commence phase two of the High Road/Windyhall Water Mains Replacement Project in Letterkenny.
The work is being carried out as part of Irish Water’s national Leakage Reduction Programme which includes removing problematic pipes from the public water network.
The second phase of works on the High Road/ Windyhall Water Mains Replacement Project is due to commence next week.
The works will involve the replacement of 490 metres of pipeline outside Letterkenny University Hospital, begining at the Hospital Roundabout and ending at St Columba’s Terrace.
With phase one now complete, the latest phase is estimated to last 9 weeks, including the Easter holidays, when works will be suspended from March 30 to April 4.
Irish Water say the work sections will be limited to short sections to minimise impact on customers with work possibly involving water shut offs.
A traffic management plan will be in place.
