There are genuine fears that extensive work by Irish Water in Letterkenny will have a major impact on local business.
Sewerage works began on the Circular road area of the town last night however it’s claimed that the nature of the work could result in it taking up to a year to complete.
The road, which is home to a number of businesses and the gateway to a heavily populated area, is to be closed intermittently until works are complete.
Cllr Gerry McMonagle has requested the utility to attend the next sitting of the Letterkenny MD to see if the current situation can be reviewed:
