Motorist jailed for having no insurance

A man already serving an 18-months sentence, with three months remaining, was given another four months at Dungloe District Court .
Michael Reddan, of Meenacladdy, Meenlaragh, Gweedore, was jailed for having no insurance and fined €350, payable immediately, for not having a driving licence when he was banned.
The offences, which Reddan admitted, were committed on February 1st at Main Street, Dungloe.
Judge Paul Kelly was told that 46-year-old Reddan had previous convictions and there was also a European arrest warrant from Scotland waiting to be served on him.
At the same court sitting, a teenager who admitted a string of drunken offences when he was only 15 was ordered  to continue a nightly curfew and not to drink, including during Christmas.
The youngster, who will be 17 next month, admitted five offences of being drunk, one of assault, refusing to give gardai his name and address, and threatening behaviour.
The offences took place on a number of dates between May and August last year in Magheraclogher, Derrybeg, and Ranafast, Co. Donegal.
