Donegal seafood enterprises to receive share of €3m investment

A number of seafood companies in Donegal are to receive funding under a €1 million fund announced by the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue.

The grants will support a total investment of almost €3 million in aquaculture and seafood processing enterprises across the country.

The grant awards are co-funded by the Government and the European Union.

In Donegal, Loughros Beg Specials Ltd will receive a total investment of over €180,000 under the Sustainable Aquaculture Grant Scheme for the expansion and development of new oyster sites while €1.1 million will be invested in Feirm Farraige Oilean Chilara Teoranta to fund a pole system, AGD Bags and workboat.

€105,000 will go towards the expansion of oyster production at Silogéisc na Rossan Teoranta and Silogésic Inisheane Teoranta will increase its oyster seed production capacity with an investment of €18,000.

Almost €400,000 has been allocated to Errigal Bay Limited under the Seafood Processing Capital Investment Scheme for capital expenditure.
