Healthcare workers are expected to receive their Pandemic Special Recognition Payment in their next paycheck.
The payment of 1 thousand euro will not be subject to income tax, USC or PRSI.
Health Minister Stephen Donnelly says the measure was introduced as “a token of appreciation and gratitude” for their hard work fighting against Covid-19.
