Voters in NI look set to go to polls again

Voters in the North are set for another election in mid-December.

It’s after Stormont met this afternoon and failed to elect a speaker, which is necessary to officially elect a new First and Deputy First Minister.

US senator George Mitchell, who helped negotiate the Good Friday Agreement, says there needs to be patience in the North.

He told an Oireachtas Committee today issues in Stormont need to be solved by MPs on the ground:
