A woman has died after being hit by a car in Charleville in County Cork.
A man who was injured in the same collision is being treated at Cork University Hospital.
Emergency services responded to a collision involving a car and two pedestrians on Main Street, Charleville, at 2pm yesterday afternoon.
Both pedestrians, a woman in her 70s and and man in his 60s, were taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.
The woman in her 70s was later pronounced dead, while the man is now understood to be in a stable condition.
The scene has been examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, the Coroner has been notified, and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
