
A Donegal TD is seeking a guarantee that the Strand Hotel in Ballyliffin will not receive permission to be used as an IPAS Centre.
An application was previously made to see the hotel, which has been closed since 2022, turned into temporary accommodation for refugees.
Deputy Padraig Mac Lochlainn was told by government officials that the location was no longer under consideration.
It’s now understood that a second offer has since been made to the Department from the hotel owners.
Deputy MacLochlainn is now requesting clarification on the status of the application, saying it should not go ahead.
